I am an adjoining owner
You may have received notification from your neighbour, or have become aware, perhaps by a Planning Consultation letter, that they are intending to carry out building works. If so, you must respond correctly, to avoid prejudicing your position and to ensure that you and your property are protected under the Party Wall Act.
The Hopps Partnership, as experienced Party Wall Surveyors, will be able to act on your behalf in the capacity of Adjoining Owner's Surveyor, make initial enquiries with your neighbour as to what works are being proposed, determine if they fall under the control of the Party Wall Act and if that is the case, we will ensure that the correct procedures are followed to maximise protection of you and your property, by the publication of Party Wall Awards. In almost every case, you will not be responsible for costs, and we will recover our costs from your neighbours, the Building Owners.
